This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the bed (hereafter referred to as "a bed")
that is used principally in medical facilities, and that consists of the body of the bed
(hereafter referred to as "a body"), the side rails and the grip for bed. The body is oper-
ated manually and electrically to steplessly adjust the angle in back and the angle
and/or height of knee part. This Standard is also applicable to the flat floor type bed
without the adjustment mechanism. It does not apply to the beds for high-tech medical
care, the beds for a particular function (except the function to adjust the angle in back
and the angle and/or height of knee part) and the electrically operated adjustable beds
for home use.
