この追補は， ISO 10303-42 : 1994， Industrial automation systems and integration -Product data representation and exchange-Part 42:Integrated generic resources:Geometric and topological reprcaentat onに対して1999年に発行されたTechnical corrigendum I及びTechnical corrigendum 2について，技術的內容を変更することなくJIS B 3700-42 : 1996の追補1として作成したものである。また，この追補Iでは，Technical corrigendum an 1及びTechnital corrigeudum 2の訂正內容をTechnical eorrigendum:ごとに並べるのではなく，規格利用者の利便性を考慮して，両者の訂正內容をページ単位に並び替えて作成したものである。JIS K 3700-42: 1996を，次のように改正する。
