This standard defines the modelling rules for the aspects of alarm and event handling for process PEAs according to VDI/VDE/NAMUR 2658 Part 1 and Part 6. This includes the description of the alarm structure of a PEA, as well as the dynamic objects for visualization of the alarms and events. It does not include the runtime environment that is based on OPC UA AC (alarms and conditions), which is described in VDI/VDE/NAMUR 2658 Part 7.1. The aspect of the alarm and event modelling is focused on the following topics: description of the alarm and event structure of the PEA; interface between the manifest (VDI/VDE/NAMUR 2658 Part 1) and the alarm and event aspect; modelling guidelines for the alarm and event aspect; classes and structures used to describe the alarm and event handling of the PEA; connections between alarms and event related to services, tags of the automation system; semantic grouping of alarms and events. Target groups are the same as described in more detail in Part 1, namely: module vendor; tool vendor; module integrator. Use cases and definitions also correspond to VDI/VDE/NAMUR 2658 Part 1.
