建筑防水即為防止水對建筑物某些部位的滲透而從建筑材料上和構造上所采取的措施。防水材料的種類，按原材料來分，有瀝青類防水材料、橡膠塑料類防水材料、水泥類防水材料、金屬類防水材料。防水涂料有四大類：硬性灰漿、柔性灰漿、丙烯酸酯、單組分聚氨酯。按性狀，防水材料還有防水卷材、聚氨酯防水材料、聚合物水泥基防水材料之分。

有害物質含量，固體含量，無處理拉伸強度，熱處理的拉伸強度保持率，堿處理后的拉伸強度保持率，浸水處理后的拉伸強度保持率，紫外線處理后的拉伸強度保持率，低溫柔性，粘結強度，不透水性，抗滲性，表干時間，實干時間等等。
